Privacy Policy
Site name: US Home Battery Backup
Domain: homebatterycalc.com
Contact: [TODO — contact email / form, to be added at publish time]
Last updated: November 5, 2026
This policy describes what this site collects, what it shares, and why. It is not legal advice.
1. Calculator data
The Phase 1 calculator prototypes run entirely in your browser. They do not send your inputs to this site, and they do not store your bill, address, or usage data.
On the live site, the same principle will apply unless a page says otherwise: calculator inputs are used to show you a result. If a future calculator offers to email you a result, that page will say exactly what is collected, why, and how to delete it, before you submit anything.
2. Analytics and advertising (live site only — TODO to confirm tools)
[TODO — list every analytics and advertising tool actually used on the live site, what each collects, and its retention period. Do not list a tool that is not in use.]
If advertising is added later, the advertising provider may use cookies to show ads and measure them. The live policy must name that provider and link to its cookie / opt-out information. Do not copy a cookie clause for a provider that is not actually on the site.
3. Quote form (Load Builder)
The Load Builder calculator itself runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing. If you choose to fill in the optional "Get free quotes" form, you give us your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, and state, plus your load summary (the appliances you picked, watts, kWh, battery size, and cost range), how long you spent on the builder, and the consent text you ticked. We send those details to licensed battery installers in your area so they can call or text you about a quote. We may be paid by an installer or marketplace for connecting you with them. We do not share your data with anyone else, and we do not send your data anywhere until you submit that form. You can ask us to delete your details or not to share them — see section 5.
California residents: under California law, sharing your details with installers for payment can count as a "sale" of personal information. You can tell us not to sell or share your information by contacting us (see section 5) — you can still use the free calculators either way.
If you click a quote or affiliate link instead, you leave this site and go to a marketplace, installer, or retailer. Your details on that next site are handled by that company under its own privacy policy — not by this site, and not by the calculator you just used.
4. What this site does not do
• It does not buy email lists or traffic.
• It does not require an account or sign-up to use a calculator.
• It does not share or sell your calculator inputs — only the details you put in the optional quote form, as described in section 3, and only with your consent.
5. Contact and corrections
[TODO — contact method for privacy questions and data-deletion requests.] Requests will be answered as promptly as the live site's contact process allows, and the policy will be updated here if that process changes.
6. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be noted here with a new "Last updated" date. The calculator prototypes in Phase 1 collect nothing, so no change to this draft affects prototype use.
