US Home Battery Backup

Affiliate Disclosure

Plainly stated: No live affiliate link exists on this site yet. Solar.com and EnergySage are future programmes to apply to only after the site is live. EnergySage's rate is deliberately blank because network listings conflict ($9.60 vs $25, both 45-day cookie). No visitor discount is guaranteed.

The short version, in plain language

Some links on this site are affiliate or lead links. If you use one of those links to request quotes, sign up, or buy, this site may earn a commission or lead fee from the company on the other end, at no extra stated cost to you unless that company's own terms say otherwise. This disclosure page does not replace the disclosure beside each individual link — every link that can earn money carries its own disclosure, right beside the link, before you click.

Phase 1 status (remove at publish time): No affiliate account has been created for this site yet. The wording below is a draft template for publish time. It must not be presented as if a live programme is already paying this site, and no link, ID, or discount code in this draft is live.

How to tell an affiliate link from a normal link

An affiliate or lead link is labelled beside the link itself, for example:

> [Company name] — affiliate link. [What happens after you click, in one sentence. What counts as a signup. What this site may earn, and when. What you get, and what you do not get.]

A plain source link (for example, to an official utility programme page or a tax source) is not an affiliate link and earns this site nothing. Source links are labelled as sources, not as affiliate links.

What "signup" means — these are different, and the site will not blur them

Depending on the programme, payment may be triggered by:

• A verified registration (a real person, verified contact details), or

• An approved lead (a quote request the marketplace accepts), or

• A signed contract, or

• A completed installation.

A form fill alone does not always count. A click alone does not count. If you were already in a company's sales pipeline before clicking a link on this site, that company's terms may mean the link does not count at all. Each link's own disclosure states its trigger in that programme's terms.

Solar.com — draft per-link wording (update from the approved programme terms before publishing)

Solar.com's affiliate terms, as reported in the research, state milestone payments of $1 (verified registration), $25 (full order), $100 (signed contract), and $500 (completed installation), scaled 100% for Tier 1 states, 80% for Tier 2, and 50% elsewhere, with a domain-authority bonus of $75 (DA under 30), $150 (30–50), $750 (50–70), or $5,000 (70+), redemption at $100 by check or an equivalent method in 7–10 business days, and a pause at $2,000 cumulative until a Form W-9 and programme agreement are returned.

Draft per-link wording (to be confirmed against the approved agreement, including state tier for the reader's state):

> Solar.com — affiliate link. If you request quotes through this link, Solar.com will connect you with installers in your area. Requesting quotes is free. I may earn $1 when you verify your registration, $25 at full order, $100 if you sign a contract, and $500 if installation completes — scaled by your state tier — and I can choose to share part of the install payment with you as a discount; that discount is not guaranteed, its split is set in the programme dashboard, and it only applies if installation completes. You are not obliged to buy. Your details go to Solar.com and the installers it matches you with, not to me. If you were already in Solar.com's pipeline before clicking, my link may not count. If installation is cancelled or you do not qualify, I may earn nothing.

Open questions that must be answered before this wording goes live: Is a Pakistan-based publisher accepted? Is payout by check / equivalent workable to Pakistan, or is W-8BEN accepted in place of W-9? What are the state tiers for MA/RI/CT, CA, TX, FL? Does a battery-only retrofit qualify, or only solar + battery? What is the dashboard discount-split range? Do not publish this link until those answers are in writing.

EnergySage via a network — draft per-link wording (do NOT publish a rate until the dashboard confirms it)

EnergySage network listings disagree in the research: one listing states $9.60 per approved lead, another states $25 per registered rooftop property (and $100 per community-solar subscription), both with a 45-day cookie. Neither figure may be published as "the" rate until the network dashboard confirms the current rate and the lead definition for this publisher.

Draft per-link wording (rate left as a placeholder on purpose):

> EnergySage — affiliate link via [network name — TODO]. If you request quotes through this link, EnergySage will connect you with installers in your area. Requesting quotes is free. I may earn a fee if your quote request is approved as a lead; the exact lead payment and lead definition are set in my network agreement and are not a discount to you. You are not obliged to buy. Your details go to EnergySage and the installers it matches you with, not to me.

Battery-only note for any EnergySage page: battery quotes are mainly for new solar + battery systems; battery-only shoppers may be routed to an advisor consultation. A battery-only page must say that honestly, not imply a direct battery-only quote funnel.

Product links (portable / DIY layer only — never as an installed-battery substitute)

Portable battery and component products (for example, Jackery and Renogy on their official affiliate pages, reporting 5% and an average of about 6% respectively in the research) belong in a clearly separated portable / DIY section only. They are not whole-home installed batteries, and they must never be presented as if they were.

Draft per-link wording:

> [Brand] — affiliate link. If you buy through this link, I may earn a commission from the retailer. That commission does not give you a discount unless the programme itself provides a code, and any such code must be a programme-provided code — not an invented code.

What this site will not claim about links

• It will not claim a guaranteed discount percentage, saving, or payback as a benefit of using a link.

• It will not claim "using my link costs you nothing extra" or "your price is not raised by my link" unless that specific programme states it. What is verified in general is narrower: requesting quotes through the marketplaces above is free, and installers pay the marketplace — the final installed price is the installer's quote, and this site has not verified that it is identical with or without a link.

• It will not present a referral programme that is personal-only, invitation-only, or US-resident-only as if it were an open website affiliate programme. Programmes that do not fit a general-traffic website — for example, Palmetto Ambassador (US residents only, personal connections only, no general-traffic websites in its terms) and Sunrun Non-Customer Referral (invitation-gated, lead-generation agencies ineligible in its terms, install-only gift/prepaid card) — are not used as website affiliate links on this site.

If a link stops paying, changes, or is removed

Programme terms change. If a programme closes, changes its rate, or removes this site, the link and its disclosure will be updated or removed, and any rate on this page that no longer matches the programme's current terms will be corrected. A rate on this page is a record of the terms at the time stated — it is not a promise that the programme will pay that rate forever.
